From a 2014 Intel Mac mini to a 2026 M4 Mac mini — macOS 14 or Later — Nothing Else Required.

Self-contained. Works completely offline. Runs on hardware most modern CAD tools abandoned years ago.

One honest footnote: to exchange DWG files (AutoCAD’s closed format), C3 uses the free ODA File Converter from the Open Design Alliance — the same technology virtually every non-Autodesk CAD relies on for DWG. One download, two minutes, needed only for DWG. Everything else — DXF, Eagle, Gerber, SVG, PDF, images, .cadd — is handled by C3 natively.

  •  Entry-level 2026 M4 Mac mini — macOS 26 Tahoe (daily pro-audio design use)
  •  Nov 2024 M4 Pro MacBook Pro 14-inch — macOS 15 Sequoia (development + daily use of C3)
  •  2023 M2 Pro Mac mini — macOS 26 Tahoe, bare metal
  •  2023 M2 Pro in Apple Virtual Machine — macOS 26 Tahoe
  •  M1 Mac Studio — macOS 14 Sonoma (recording-studio production machine)
  •  Late 2014 Intel Mac mini — macOS 15 Sequoia

The 2014 Mac mini officially tops out at macOS Monterey. Sequoia runs there via the OpenCore Legacy Patcher community project — and C3 runs cleanly in that environment. Consider it a bonus, not an officially supported configuration.
